Since 2019, Zion Global Missions has partnered with United Way of Greater Cincinnati to serve households living below the federal poverty level to financial assistance and other supportive services to meet basic needs. United Way and the Child Poverty Collaborative invited nonprofit and faith-based organizations to build a provider network in order to reach as many Hamilton County households who may not be aware of have access to the traditional network of service providers. Partner agencies receive funding from United Way, City of Cincinnati, and private foundations.
Clients are interviewed and based on eligibility may receive limited assistance for rent payments, car repairs/down payments or car insurance, school or training program tuition, utility payments and other basic needs. Our dedicated team will also connect clients with community-based financial literacy classes and identify other programs that will help to stabilize their households. One of our key partners is Health Care Access Now that links individuals and families with Certified Community Health Workers who are in need of a medical home, mental health services or basic health insurance.
